Back to All Events
It is estimated that almost all sentient beings in the world are wild animals, and on plausible assumptions most wild animals live lives that are barely worth living. Could intervening in nature to improve ecosystems therefore be an important cause area? Or is the problem simply intractable, due to our uncertainties about ecological effects and the wellbeing of wild animals?
In this presentation Tristan and Asher will present the case in favor of this cause area, showing that there are some interventions worth considering now, and stronger reasons to consider the problem tractable within a longtermist approach.
