If you're a content leader with a passion for purpose-driven work and the skills to move hearts and minds through bold, effective messaging, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and execution of the organization’s global content strategy, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and organizational priorities.

  • Oversee the creation of high-impact content—including media exposés, articles, reports, videos, social media assets, and press materials—that supports public engagement and advocacy efforts.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and regional teams to craft messaging that resonates across diverse cultural and geographic contexts.

  • Shape the organization’s narrative and storytelling approach to inspire action, build awareness, and influence key audiences.

  • Manage and guide content planning across multiple platforms and channels, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and strategic messaging.

  • Monitor content performance and audience engagement, using data to optimize strategies and maximize impact.

  • Train, supervise, and provide performance evaluations of content creators and communication staff, providing strategic direction and creative input.

  • Stay informed about trends in digital media, advocacy communications, and audience behavior, integrating insights into the organization’s approach.

  • Support the planning and execution of undercover investigations, campaign launches, public actions, and mobilization efforts through compelling content and narratives.

  • Ensure brand consistency and quality standards across all communications outputs and platforms.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:

  • Proven experience in content strategy and people management, ideally in the nonprofit, advocacy, or communications sectors.

  • Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that engage diverse audiences across cultures and regions.

  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a strong understanding of how to use content to influence public opinion and behavior.

  • Experience developing and executing multi-platform content strategies, including digital, social media, earned media, and grassroots channels.

  • Strong understanding of advocacy communications, with an ability to create messaging that supports campaigns, mobilization, and policy goals.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally with regional teams and senior leadership.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of quality and creativity.

  • Passion for animal protection, social justice, or other mission-driven work, with a commitment to systemic change.

  • Fluency in English is required; additional language skills (especially Spanish or Portuguese) are a plus.

  • Experience working in international or multicultural environments is highly desirable.

  • An affinity for animal rights issues and a vegan lifestyle is highly desirable.
