We’re seeking an experienced, self-starting Impact Communications Lead to collect data and information from grantees and to evaluate the progress of projects and the impact being created. Ideally, they should have experience working with field-based organisations as well as meta-research organisations.

They should be able to write creative, trustworthy and technically-sound reports using data that can capture the interest and excite a wide range of stakeholders, including funders. You’ll work directly with Bloom’s leadership.

The financial reimbursement is £27.70 per hour. While the average time commitment equates to around 2 days per week, the work is expected to be delivered in flexible, concentrated periods, with more hours during reporting or strategy phases, and lighter stretches in between.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quarterly progress check-ins with grantees:
Cultivate and steward relationships with grantees to understand their progress, challenges and impact.

  • Communication:
Using insights from grantee meetings, develop quarterly and annual reports, and support production of fundraising materials, and updates for donors and stakeholders.

  • Work with leadership to develop a broader strategy for impact evaluation for the Fund:
Develop a model to evaluate the impact of the Fund

About You

  • You’re a compelling communicator with a sharp analytical mind and a passion for making impact visible. You know how to interpret data, extract insights, and translate complex project outcomes into narratives that resonate with donors, stakeholders, and the public.

  • You have experience working with mission-driven organisations – ideally including charities, research groups, or funders – and you understand both the nuance and the necessity of good impact reporting. Whether it’s a well-crafted paragraph or a beautifully structured chart, you know how to make the story of change come alive.

  • You’re strategic, highly autonomous, and comfortable building relationships with grantees, asking thoughtful questions, and understanding what matters.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience communicating impact in the context of mental health, wellbeing, or international development.

  • Familiarity with wellbeing science, WELLBYs, or effective giving principles.

  • Experience working with organisations in low- and middle-income countries.

  • A knack for collaborating on the design of visual reports, infographics, or dashboards (in concert with our in-house designer).
