Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Policy Analyst to join the Climate Adaptation and Natural Hazards team within the Adaptation Business Unit. The Adaptation Business Unit is the Government's lead advisor on adaptation issues. We provide advice on how New Zealand can be ready to meet the challenges of climate change. A key focus of this role is helping to deliver advice on new climate adaptation policy to the government.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
We are looking for a senior who is able to work well within an existing team, and with work that is already at an advanced stage. This is challenging, varied and fast paced work. Our ideal candidate will also bring all or some of the following:
extensive experience in central or local government policy development
analytical skills and strong written and oral science communication skills
an understanding of the resource management system (a planning background is welcome, though not necessary)
an ability to connect with others, applying influencing skills and building relationships
an understanding of how climate change will effect the economy (a background as an economist is welcome, though not necessary)
comfort in working with ambiguity and adaptability to changing priorities
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $108,976 to $132,277 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
