FutureSearch

π° $125-225,000 USD /yearβπ Rolling Applications
FutureSearch is looking for exceptional Software Engineers to evaluate and improve state-of-the-art forecasting and agentic LLM web research. We are an elite team of engineers and researchers at the frontier of AI epistemics. We have one of the best publicly available forecasters, with a public track record in forecasting tournaments, and we publish research, reports, and benchmarks. We also use our frontier research tools to research the future, and we work with frontier labs on research, evaluation, and training.
This is a senior role with wide scope. In a typical month you might ship a product feature in the FutureSearch app, extend the pipelines behind the benchmarks, and debug why an agent pool times out under production load. You own what you build end to end β design, deployment, monitoring, and debugging. It's a small team (11 people), so work is handed off whole and expected to get done.
Key Responsibilities
Building from rough ideas to production β turning a loose spec into a working prototype within a week, then hardening it into something the team relies on
Owning systems end to end β design, deployment, monitoring, and debugging when things misbehave
Working with the core stack β Python on GCP and Azure, Kubernetes, Ray, Postgres, ClickHouse, and Dagster
Leveraging coding agents β much of the build work happens through coding agents, so the value is in what you choose to build and how you verify it
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required for all applicants:
Experience with the stack (or the ability to pick it up fast): Python on GCP and Azure, Kubernetes, Ray, Postgres, ClickHouse, Dagster
A fascination with AI and a desire to push what's possible
A fast working pace and genuine enthusiasm for using the products you build
Strongest candidates will additionally have:
Experience owning production backend systems end to end, including deployment, monitoring, and debugging
Experience building on LLM APIs and working daily with coding agents like Claude Code, with good instincts for spotting incorrect output
A research background (academic or industry) β many team members come from research, and engineers who read papers and prototype their ideas thrive here
A genuine drive to improve AI epistemics in ways that improve humanity's near-term decision-making β some of the best fits are people who nearly became research scientists and chose engineering instead
