Kia ora koutou Earth loving whānau!
For this Earth Day, we have brought together a diversity of clubs to celebrate te taiao (the natural world), tangata (people) and kai (food).
Who’s Coming?
Everyone is invited! But several clubs are coming together, including UNiQ, SEA, AAPES, Otago Campus Vegans, Student Christian Movement, Effective Altruism and Slow Food Youth.
What’s the Plan?
Getting out in nature! At 11 am, we will meet at the front entrance to Woodhaugh Gardens. We will then walk through the ngāhere (forest) to experience nature (rain or shine!). We will learn a little about our local Ōtepoti ecology along the way. Some foraging may also take place (TBC)!
After our walk, we are going to share some kai to connect our different communites. If the weather is good, then we will have our potluck at Woodhaugh. If it is wet, then we’ll come back to campus to share.
About the Potluck
If you can, we’d love it if you could bring a plate of food to share. We’ll have cars to store the food in while we’re out on our walk. We only ask that you try to make some plant-based food. No worries if not, we’ll have some sticky notes so you can label your kai.
Make sure you bring a plate and fork to eat with.
Each club will also bring some kai too make sure everyone can get a feed.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
