The Analyst - Consulting role will be responsible for working with corporate, philanthropy, Māori, government and social enterprises to design and implement strategies, outcomes management solutions and organisational changes that support organisations to increase their social impact. You will assist the design and implementation of consulting activities that develop innovative solutions to challenging problems as you:
perform research and analysis
run client interviews
develop and refine impact/ theory of change models
provide strategic problem solving using relevant frameworks
assist in consultation processes, presentations and workshops
develop impact reports for clients that present findings and recommendations
support and promote an understanding and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way we work as an organisation and the work that we undertake
You will also support our social procurement programme. This will include:
scheduling regular meetings with clients
project management for Buyer Masterclasses and Community of Practice
supporting Ākina certified suppliers
About you
You will have a passion for enabling organisations to work in a sustainable and impactful way and to improve what they do. To ensure you are successful in this role you will bring:
a minimum of two years consulting or business advisory experience
some knowledge of social/ environmental impact/ outcomes strategy, measurement and management
analytical thinking and the ability to identify and implement creative solutions to challenges
exceptional relationship and stakeholder management skills
a proactive and organised mindset
a willingness to be adaptive and support multiple engagements in parallel
empathy and outstanding communication skills
Experience partnering with business leaders from diverse environments and/ or an understanding of te ao Māori would be advantageous as would design thinking skills.

We work in a highly supportive and flexible way, across projects and clients. The team operates with a high degree of autonomy across Auckland and Wellington, travelling as required.
Ākina empowers clients to support, measure and uplift work that is both sustainable and impactful. Impact management services are provided to a wide range of public and private sector organisations in New Zealand. We help clients develop impact strategies and utilise levers such as social procurement, impact measurement, impact management, impact investing.
