The Chief of Impact is responsible for ensuring the maximum impact of CATF’s work towards its mission and organizational strategy by securing excellence in programmatic content and delivery across a complex portfolio of programs and regional advocacy venues. The role focuses on optimizing human, financial, and external resources to prioritize and integrate programmatic and regional advocacy elements with CATF’s operational, fundraising, and financial functions. The Chief of Impact supports the program and regional teams by ensuring that ongoing strategic planning is happening, and that strategies are aligned to the CATF’s overall vision and mission, internally coordinated, and appropriately prioritized and resourced to achieve greatest impact.
The Chief of Impact reports to the Managing Director and works closely with the Executive Director, and C-suite leaders to determine organizational direction and priorities. This role ensures highest quality delivery and execution by overseeing and improving ways of working (processes and programmatic operations), establishing and monitoring success metrics, and performance.
The primary responsibilities of the Chief of Impact involve ensuring that CATF’s programs, advocacy are of the highest quality, mission-aligned, and mindful of budget constraints. This includes optimizing programmatic and advocacy efforts to maximize impact while seamlessly integrating them with other key functions with fundraising, communications, finance, and operations in partnership with the Managing Director. The role requires providing strategic input to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.
Additionally, they oversee the development, execution, and coordination of regional and program strategies, ensuring consistency in CATF’s external policy positions across programs and regions, while facilitating internal policy discussions as needed.
This role also involves providing mentorship, sponsorship, and people management for the program and regional leaders, acting as a vital link between the Executive Director, who defines CATF’s vision and mission, and the Managing Director, who leads the organization’s work. This role would serve as a mentor and sponsor for CATF’s highest-level strategic leaders and subject matter experts. The individual may engage directly with specific programs and regions, offering strategic insights, identifying operational opportunities, and participating in tactical execution as necessary. Lastly, they work in partnership with the Executive team to prioritize financial and supportive resources, resolving most issues at the chief level, with more complex matters being escalated to the Managing Director.
