TamperSec is an impact-driven startup dedicated to creating secure hardware enclosures wrapped around AI chips, positioning itself at the forefront of compute governance. We’re developing technology that has gained the interest of a broad spectrum of stakeholders, from government bodies to philanthropic funders and leading AI safety researchers.

TamperSec seeks a co-founder with a shared vision to help shape an emerging, multi-billion-dollar industry. In this role, you’ll take the lead in:

• Customer Strategy and Market Positioning: Refine TamperSec’s positioning within a dynamic market by understanding and addressing customer needs. Identify new growth opportunities and emerging markets to strengthen TamperSec’s competitive edge and enhance its appeal to target audiences.

• Building and Nurturing a Network of Key Stakeholders: Develop and strengthen relationships with customers, policymakers, researchers, investors, grantmakers, and regulatory bodies to drive TamperSec’s impact and growth.

Depending on your skills and interests, you could also play a role in:

• Strategic Vision and Product Strategy: Collaborate closely to establish TamperSec’s long-term objectives and drive product development. Leverage market insights and emerging trends to innovate and expand TamperSec’s product offerings, ensuring they meet stakeholder demands and adhere to industry standards.

• Crafting our Narrative and Expanding Visibility: You’ll communicate our mission, goals, and technology in compelling, relatable ways across multiple platforms, positioning TamperSec as a pioneer in AI security. Increase TamperSec’s reach and inspire others about our mission.

• Operations and Scalability: Collaborate on establishing scalable processes and operational efficiencies as TamperSec grows, ensuring we can meet increasing demand and manage resources effectively.

• Talent Acquisition and Team Culture: Help build and lead a motivated team by participating in recruitment, cultivating a mission-driven culture, and ensuring that we attract and retain top talent aligned with our values.

Ideal Profile

Essential Characteristics:

• Mission-Driven Innovator: Deeply committed to advancing secure AI hardware solutions and excited about contributing to the forefront of compute governance.

• Exceptional Communicator: Proficiency in conveying complex ideas and engaging diverse stakeholders across government, industry, and academia, and ability to inspire enthusiasm in others about TamperSec’s mission.

• Strategic Networker: Demonstrated success in relationship-building across sectors, particularly with investors, researchers, policymakers, or other key players in the tech ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Prior experience in startups, entrepreneurship, or other high-impact environments, especially within deep tech, cybersecurity, or AI.

• Relevant Industry Insight: Knowledge or experience in areas such as compute governance, national security, AI policy, information security or regulations and standards is highly advantageous; experience in semiconductor manufacturing or electrical engineering experience is a further plus.

• Operational Scaling Experience: Proven experience in scaling operations within a startup or fast-growing tech company, ideally in hardware or deep tech. Familiarity with setting up scalable processes and workflows.

• Talent Development and Leadership: Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and retain top talent in high-growth or mission-driven companies. Skilled in creating an inclusive, collaborative environment that motivates and develops team members, with experience in building frameworks for long-term employee engagement and growth.

• Technical Insight: A technical background is beneficial, though not required; you should be comfortable engaging with technical stakeholders.

Additional Details

• Position: This is a paid, full-time position with equal equity share among founders.

• Location: As a co-founder, you will have a significant say in the company's location. Current preferences are the US, the UK or Switzerland. Eligibility for obtaining a security clearance in those countries is a plus.
