We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our growing team and lead our critical operational functions. This role is essential for ensuring that our programs and initiatives are executed efficiently, and it offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our organization.
The COO will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the internal systems and operations that allow Foresight to thrive. From overseeing key systems like Bloomerang and Deel to executing high-level operational strategy, this role requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, excellent organizational capabilities, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities
Systems Management:
Maintain, optimize, and implement essential operational systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Deel, and task management platforms).
Ensure that the organization’s infrastructure supports seamless program execution and growth.
Hiring & Team Management:
Oversee the full lifecycle of employee and contractor management, including onboarding, offboarding, and performance reviews.
Lead OKR (Objectives and Key Results) processes for the operations team and set performance standards across departments.
Act as a mentor and manager for key team members, including Fundraising Personnel, Program Coordinators, and Communications Manager.
Cultivate a supportive, high-performing organizational culture.
Financial Oversight:
Collaborate with our Administrative Manager to oversee financial and administrative operations.
Draft and manage budgets, financial plans, and operational expenses.
Ensure financial compliance and manage relationships with auditors.
Oversee insurance, 401k plans, and employee benefits, ensuring that they align with organizational policies.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Handle legal compliance, including international hiring, contractor agreements, and immigration policies.
Act as the main contact for external auditors and lead cybersecurity initiatives.
Strategic Leadership:
Lead budget planning meetings and participate in strategic discussions with the Board of Directors.
Develop and implement organizational strategies to support Foresight’s long-term mission.
Represent Foresight at key internal and external events, building relationships with partners and collaborators to further our mission.
Event & Retreat Participation:
Join our renowned Vision Weekends, which gather thought leaders and innovators to explore transformative ideas for the future.
Participate in and help organize team retreats, fostering internal cohesion and driving organizational goals forward.
Qualifications
3+ years in senior operations roles, preferably within nonprofit, tech, or science-driven sectors.
Proven experience in managing operational systems, compliance, and team oversight.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in budgeting, financial oversight, and compliance management.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, decentralized work environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
