Are you excited to join our mission and work with us on figuring out how to best reduce suffering?
We would love to hear from you! Please register your interest here.
We are keen to work with people who:
are driven by maximising altruistic impact, and are intellectually curious about how to best do so
are passionate about our mission to reduce suffering
excel at self-directed work without strong supervision
are familiar with the core ideas of effective altruism, s-risks, and suffering-focused ethics
As a small and entirely remote-based organisation, CRS is flexible about different forms of involvement. Depending on your needs, skills, and interests, we would consider either full employment, part-time work, a (paid) internship or work trial, informal research collaborations, or financial support for independent work. If you do not yet know exactly how you would like to be involved, we strongly encourage you to get in touch anyway.
Please note that we are not only looking for researchers. Depending on your strengths and interests, you can also contribute to our mission in an operations, management, or communications role.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Why work at CRS?

work towards the shared goal of reducing suffering with highly driven, intellectually curious and caring colleagues
receive mentorship and feedback from people with many years of experience in suffering-focused prioritisation and macrostrategy
get the necessary financial and operational support that allows you to focus on maximising your impact
have the opportunity to shape the priorities of suffering reducers worldwide, as well the broader effective altruism community, through your research
We believe that our open-ended research program on how to best reduce suffering fills an important gap. For more details on who we are, what we do, and why we do what we do, see the About Us page, our Strategic Plan, and our Open Research Questions.
