HIA has partnered with the world’s fastest growing fitness racing movement, Hyrox, to create a powerful global fundraising movement. We're seeking a communications specialist to help drive our "Race for Impact" movement forward and amplify its global impact.
You'll join our team full-time, reporting to our communications director and working alongside our tech team, to help develop super compelling fundraising campaigns, communication strategies and engaging content, while building our global brand across 20+ countries. You'll craft impact stories that inspire action, implement data-driven digital marketing solutions and nurture fundraiser communities to maximize their impact and achieve their fundraising goals.
This role sits at the dynamic intersection of global fitness and high-impact philanthropy, where you'll help thousands of athletes transform their physical achievements into meaningful social change that supports world-class charities.
YOU’LL OWN:
FUNDRAISER JOURNEY & SUPPORT:
Develop communications strategies to guide and motivate fundraisers from sign-up to race day, transforming racers into dedicated, committed
fundraisersDevelop complex, semi-personalized email sequences that engage fundraiser segments throughout their journey, encouraging motivation and participation
Write practical fundraising resources and toolkits to support athletes
Identify trends and user challenges in the fundraiser journey and solve these pain points
Establish and grow dedicated fundraiser communities through regional
WhatsApp groups and other digital channelsConceptualise and integrate fundraising elements into in-person race
experiences
CONTENT STRATEGY & STORYTELLING:
Work with comms team to develop and create engaging social content, blogs,
and athlete impact storiesEnsure messaging is culturally adapted across 20+ countries
Support press outreach, influencer engagement, and ambassador storytelling
Stay current on social media trends and fitness community conversations
ANALYTICS & PERFORMANCE:
Monitor and analyze content performance and fundraiser engagement
Use data insights to continuously improve digital strategies
Identify drop-off points and propose solutions to improve retention
KEY SKILLS:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of email marketing and campaign strategy
Strong storytelling ability and content experience
Ability to prompt AI tools to engage as a thought partner, speed up your
workflows, produce content and deliver better outcomesStrong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable with industry-standard digital communication tools and platforms
ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE:
You should have experience with at least one of the following:
Designing and implementing digital communication strategies
Digital storytelling and content creation
Managing & engaging diverse communities (even better if they are sporting or
athlete communities)Experience in fundraising (even better if it’s challenge-event fundraising)

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
30 DAYS:
You’ve worked with the team to gain a full understanding of HIA’s fundraising
model, developed the current participant journey, identified gaps in experience
delivery, and established early priorities for improvement, e.g. initial participant
feedback loops, and a pilot local activation toolkit.90 DAYS:
You’ve successfully led the launch of strategic global experience initiatives (e.g., streamlined onboarding journeys, participant feedback loops, initial local activation toolkits), started actively optimising participant engagement, and implemented tracking for key performance indicators.
180 DAYS:
We’ve scaled impactful participant engagement initiatives across multiple global
markets, ensuring consistency, quality, and local resonance. Our data-informed
approach has yielded measurable improvements in participant satisfaction,
engagement, retention, and overall fundraising performance. Systematic
learnings are documented, shared, and integrated into refined playbooks driving
continual improvement and scalability.

Work Setup
Fully remote global team with highly flexible working arrangements.
Preference for candidates able to work primarily within US or European time zones, but exceptional candidates elsewhere are encouraged to apply.
Regular digital collaboration with some flexibility required for early morning or evening meetings to accommodate global team time zones.
Compensation & Benefits
USA-based candidates: USD $45,000 - $55,000 annually
Non-USA candidates: Compensation adjusted to competitive market rates
Annual performance bonus of up to 50% for high achievers
Private health insurance provided in countries without universal healthcare
