Operations Lead

The Operations Lead helps oversee the operational health and wellbeing of the organization’s finances, technical needs, logistics, human resources, and communications. Location: Remote. Prioritizing Latin American markets, especially Mexico.
Travel: Must be willing to travel to quarterly co-working weeks with the team
Start Date: We’d like a candidate to start as soon as possible. Ideally, you would be available to travel to New Orleans in the US between August 18-24.
Objectives
Alongside the Program Director, support the core programming of the organization, including the budgeting, program staff, key external stakeholders, monitoring & evaluations, and reporting needs
Contribute to the strategy of the organization in collaboration with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and staff
Support an organizational culture of purpose and effectiveness with an eye for dignity, equity, and belonging
Specific roles and responsibilities include:
Facilitate quarterly regranting of funds raised for our supported charities
Report charitable contributions from a variety of sources, including platforms like Benevity, Cybergrants, and physical checks
Manage the monitoring and evaluation of leading indicators that track against the organization meeting our annual goals
Ensure regular staff reporting and reconciliation of receipts
Advise and support on programming, including communications, university chapters, and our community ambassadors
Monitor ongoing compliance needs for annual and quarterly registrations in the US and UK, including completing annual financial reporting and audits with the support of our accountants
Miscellaneous organizational tasks assigned by the Executive Director
Ideal qualifications for the role (in order of importance):
Minimum 5 years of experience working on operations with a US-based nonprofit team
Results-oriented thinker
Adept at interpersonal communication, explicitly able to communicate with different stakeholders and volunteers
Collaborative across teams, projects, and workstreams
Adaptable & responsive to the needs of a growing and shifting organization
Adept at managing & prioritizing your time
Skilled at solving complex problems amongst and between people and projects
(Desirable) Data-driven: ability to use data to inform decisions and outcomes
