Partnerships Officer/Senior Officer

Prevail Fund

📍Remote (Global) 🕔 Full Time  🔄 Rolling Applications

Prevail partners with ambitious organizations in Africa and South Asia to help them scale solutions that transform millions of lives. As a Partnerships Officer/Senior Officer, you’ll work closely with 2-5 organizations to identify barriers to scale and unlock growth opportunities. You’ll connect them to technical support, funding, and a global network of experts, ensuring they have what they need to deliver impact at scale. This is a very hands-on role for someone who loves to scale impact-driven operations, builds strong relationships, moves fast, and gets things done.

About Prevail

Prevail is a new foundation dedicated to catalyzing large-scale social change by supporting private philanthropy and field implementers to pursue more ambitious and impactful goals. We raise capital from philanthropists who commit to funding specific initiatives for 10-12 years. Rather than diversifying across multiple causes, we prioritize deep, strategic investments in proven solutions with the potential to reshape global norms. For example, our first fund aims to improve foundational education for over 25 million children across 10 national governments in Africa and South Asia.

Prevail provides patient capital to implementers - primarily in the form of grants that grow over time as our partner organizations scale. In addition to funding, Prevail also offers a suite of systems and talent development services designed to address common growth barriers and prepare partner organizations for accelerated scale.

Our roots are in building organizations from the ground up that deliver impact at scale. Our co-founding board members have a track record of scaling social enterprises that together employ more than 12,000 staff and manage annual budgets exceeding $500 million. To achieve our goals, we're assembling a team of results-oriented individuals with strong implementation experience and a passion for delivering impact at scale through strategic philanthropy.

In our first two years, we have;

  • Secured our ambitious fundraising target

  • Partnered with 25 organizations across Africa and South Asia

  • Hired 25+ mission-driven team members globally

  • Run over a dozen execution projects to strengthen key functions for our partners.

You can find a bit more information about Prevail Fund and what to expect from our recruitment process here.

About the Role

You will manage Prevail’s relationship with approximately 2-5 organizations, gaining deep insights and assisting them in projects - either with the support of Prevail's technical staff or third-party service providers. Your main task will be to prepare these organizations to create verifiable impact at scale, benefiting millions of children. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and Assessing Potential Organizations

    • Building out our pipeline of potential partners and supporting the diligence process. This includes:

      • Field visits to see operations and their outcomes

      • Interviews with staff, leading external experts and peers

      • Rigorous review of internal systems, documents, and impact data

  • Supporting Organizations to Scale

    • Identify barriers to impact at scale with your partner organization(s).

    • Scope and deliver projects - either yourself or through a third party service provider - to solve challenges and unlock growth opportunities

    • Engage in regular strategic conversations with organizations to ensure they are on track, and that Prevail is able to support them in what they do best

    • Ensure Prevail always has access to the most important data and information about your partner organization(s)

  • Building a Global Coalition

    • Partner with other officers at Prevail on internal and external projects that could impact the broader cohort. For example, bringing together leaders from multiple organizations to workshop specific opportunities and challenges

    • Facilitate trials to accelerate promising new technologies or programmatic improvements across the cohort

  • Other General Work

    • Since Prevail is a start-up, there may be some additional work to ensure we are fulfilling all key activities necessary to run our fund - for example, supporting a specific donor request or researching new Government initiatives

About you

Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Work Experience. You have a minimum of 12 years of experience in building or scaling teams, and possess a deep understanding of working through government systems. We also welcome candidates with less operational or sector experience if other qualifications are exceptional.

  • Influence through Others. You have a proven ability to lead individuals without direct authority. You leverage interpersonal skills, relationship-building, and different perspectives to achieve desired outcomes.

  • You Go to Where the Action is. This role involves travel and on-the-ground support. You are the kind of person who is drawn to the heart of the action and motivated by working alongside our partners to achieve shared goals.

About our team

We work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Our culture is built on the following values and competencies:

  • Ownership and Outcomes: We have a bias for informed action. When something goes wrong, we reflect inward, and take responsibility for outcomes. When we see an opportunity to improve, we proactively take the lead and rally others to find a solution.

  • Humility: We prioritize collective success over personal accolades, welcome constructive criticism, and have a strong ethos of continuous feedback.

  • Scout Mindset: We are life-long learners, value open-mindedness and champion a genuine willingness to change our beliefs based on evidence.

  • Data: We look for the right data and metrics to understand the context, draw conclusions and make informed recommendations.

  • Motivated by Scale: We are energized by ambitious targets and moving fast to achieve them.

  • Team Oriented: We are quick to ask for help, and we are quick to help others before being asked.

  • High Adaptability: We thrive in rapidly changing, low-context environments and can quickly pivot based on new information, adjusting priorities as needed.

Location & Language

Prevail is a globally distributed team with all staff operating remotely. We have a strong preference for candidates based in regions where our programming is focused, including Africa or South Asia, and for candidates with citizenship in countries where we operate or fund programming. This position is fully remote with up to 25% travel. English is required. Fluency in Hindi, French, Amharic, and/or Swahili would be an asset.

Compensation: Prevail offers a competitive salary based on experience, skills and location. For this role we are open to hiring at multiple levels, therefore we share salary bands to candidates. Final offers are based on interview performance.

Benefits: We offer comprehensive health insurance, home workspace or coworking stipend, individual travel & collaboration budget, generous learning and development budget and computer/equipment stipends.

Career growth & development

We care about investing in our team’s professional development. Although this is a start-up environment, you will have regular check-ins with your manager and career feedback sessions. You will also have regular access to senior leadership, both internally and with partner organizations, through your work.

Duration: Full-time job. We are open to considering a part-time start if there is a commitment to transitioning to full time long-term.

Application process: Our hiring process is thorough but efficient. Successful candidates will go through;

  • 45-60 minute initial conversation with our People team

  • Technical round with hiring manager (60 minutes)

  • Case study (~5hrs)

  • Panel interview (90 minutes) and 1on1s to meet others in the team.
