Outcapped is hiring a recruiting expert who loves and can own the entire recruitment cycle, from first outreach to successful onboarding. You’ll own recruitment for our mission-driven clients, primarily in AI safety, global development, and adjacent fields. If you get energized by finding exceptional talent, designing thoughtful work trials, and building hiring processes that actually work, this role is for you.

You’ll work with highly selective organizations where cultural fit and specialized expertise matter deeply. Success means understanding nuanced role requirements, building pipelines in niche communities, and creating evaluation processes that reveal true potential, not just credentials.

We’re still early in our journey, so you’ll be highly involved in defining and refining processes, setting standards, and building the operational foundation that lets our clients move at full speed.

What We Do
Outcapped is an operations agency that frees mission-driven founders from back-office grind. We are also building a platform that will contain a library of 150+ vetted SOPs and an AI-powered workflow builder to standardize and automate finance, HR, legal, and IT tasks, saving teams up to 20 hours every week. We’re the only solution marrying full-stack automation with hands-on ops talent- purpose-built for fast-moving, impact-driven startups and research labs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Role scoping & strategy: Partner with clients to deeply understand role requirements, organizational context, and culture. Develop sourcing strategies tailored to niche communities and specialized skill sets.

  • Sourcing: Build pipelines through multiple channels-direct networks, similar organizations, community forums, conferences, referrals, and direct outreach. Leverage networks in Effective Altruism, AI safety, and related communities.

  • Screening & evaluation: Conduct initial screening calls to assess fit, motivation, and capabilities. Design and facilitate work trials that reveal how candidates think and execute. Coordinate reference checks.

  • Work trial design: Create practical, role-specific work tests that simulate real challenges candidates will face. Develop clear evaluation criteria and rubrics to assess performance objectively.

  • ATS & pipeline management: Maintain organized candidate pipelines in Ashby, Airtable, or similar ATS. Track metrics, document feedback, and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.

  • Hiring & compliance: Guide clients through offer decisions. Coordinate employment compliance requirements including contractor agreements, EOR arrangements, and international hiring considerations.

  • Onboarding coordination: Ensure smooth transitions for new hires-systems access, documentation, introductions, and first-week planning.

  • Process improvement: Continuously refine recruitment workflows, templates, and evaluation methods. Document best practices and create reusable assets for recurring roles.

About You

Must‑haves

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in startups or specialized/technical roles

  • Genuine passion for recruiting-you love the hunt, the conversations, and seeing great matches succeed

  • Proven ability to source passive candidates and build pipelines in niche communities

  • Experience designing and evaluating practical work trials or skills assessments

  • Strong written and verbal communication-you can represent organizations professionally and build rapport quickly

  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple searches simultaneously

  • Comfortable working remotely with clients across time zones

Nice‑to‑haves

You would be a standout candidate if you had most or all of these:

  • Experience recruiting for technical roles (engineering, ML/AI, research)

  • Knowledge of international hiring compliance and EOR services

  • Background in operations or talent operations

  • Comfort with automation tools (Zapier, Make) for workflow optimization

Compensation Structure

We set compensation case-by-case based on (1) role scope and seniority, (2) relevant experience and demonstrated impact, (3) availability/commitment, and (4) local cost of living (where applicable). Rates below are guidance, not fixed brackets.

€32-40 per hour, full-time salary €50-75k p.a.

Time Commitment & Benefits

  • Time commitment: This is a full-time role.

  • Contract setup: We are open to employment through an EOR, direct (Germany only), or a contractor relationship.

  • Benefits that fit: Full-time team members receive a customized benefits bundle (e.g., health cover, paid leave, home-office stipend, learning budget). Contractors set their own mix, and we adjust rates accordingly.

  • Remote-first freedom: Work from anywhere, but you must have 3-4 hours of overlap with CEST working hours (9 AM – 6 PM) and availability of 3-4 hours with Pacific time (California, USA) three days per week.

  1. Application Review
    Submit your CV and answer a few questions about your experience under Application.

  2. Initial Conversation
    A 20-minute call to discuss your background, our needs, and mutual fit.

  3. Work Test
    A 90-minute practical assignment where you’ll tackle a real operations challenge similar to what you’d handle in this role.
    This helps us see how you think, document, and execute-and helps you experience what the work is really like.

  4. Final Interview
    Deep dive into your work test, discuss compensation and start date, and address any remaining questions from both sides.

  5. Work Trial
    We give you a contracted, paid work trial for 2 months to see what it’s like to work at Outcapped, determining long-term fit for you and us.
    You’ll be part of the team and do tasks as assigned. We might shorten this trial if it becomes clear that this is a fit.

  6. Offer & Onboarding
    If we’re aligned, we’ll extend an offer for a permanent contract where you’ll be client-facing.
