Fortify Health is looking to hire a Senior Data Officer to join our Monitoring & Evaluation team on a full-time basis. The Senior Data Officer will play a critical role in ensuring an efficient data collection system, accurate data processing and transformation, and analysis of this data across the organisation. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, and design, implement, and maintain data systems that enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Responsibilities and Activities
Data Management
Design, implement, and oversee an efficient data collection system to ensure accurate and timely acquisition of data across the organization.
Conduct regular reviews of data quality to identify and rectify discrepancies, anomalies, or inaccuracies in the collected data.
Lead efforts in data transformation, applying appropriate processes to cleanse, aggregate, and structure data for analytical purposes.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve pipeline issues in a timely manner to minimize data processing disruptions.
Build an understanding of the current data pipelines and optimize the pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Consolidate monitoring data and prepare periodic reports for internal use, sharing with external stakeholders like mill partners and funders, ensuring an appropriate level of anonymity and data sharing ethics
Innovate and design mechanisms for fortification data collection and representation
Data Governance
Oversee data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with relevant data protection regulations. Manage data platforms and storage solutions, including the selection, implementation, and optimization of databases and data warehouses. For example - SurveyCTO, CRM, etc.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for pipeline development.
Document data pipeline architecture, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to data engineering and pipelines.
Support the M&E team to improve our long-term M&E strategy and related research aims
Requirements
Qualifications - Masters's Degree in relevant field / Course in data engineering or data management
Familiarity with handling the monitoring and evaluation data in Development sector / Nutrition projects
Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
