Both EA and CEA are at important inflection points. Public awareness of EA has grown significantly, and EA has had both major success and significant controversies. To match this growth in awareness, we're looking to increase our capacity to inform public narratives and contribute to a more accurate understanding of EA ideas and impact. The stakes are high: Success could result in significantly higher engagement with EA ideas, leading to career changes, donations, new projects, and increased traction in a range of fields. Failure could result in long-lasting damage to the brand, the ideas, and the people who have historically associated with them. We're interested in growing our communications team to meet these challenges.
In this role, you'll own CEA's marketing strategy and execution, focusing on improving understanding of EA among key audiences, driving awareness and engagement with our core programs, and expanding our reach.
Key responsibilities will include:
Marketing strategy development: You will create and implement comprehensive digital promotion strategies for various CEA workstreams, potentially including EA Global conferences, virtual programs, and owned media projects. You’ll translate our EA brand strategy into concrete marketing plans, strategically choosing the most effective channels and approaches to reach our target audiences.
Campaign management and optimization: You will lead the end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns, from strategy through performance measurement. You'll establish clear success metrics, track performance, and continuously refine your approach based on results.
Collaborating on content strategy: You’ll work with the rest of the communications team and other staff at CEA to develop channel strategies that advance our goals. You'll help shape our social media presence and support various content initiatives while ensuring messaging remains consistent with our broader brand strategy
Managing our marketing budget: You’ll prioritize cost-effective marketing strategies and deploy our resources toward the highest-leverage opportunities. You’ll develop frameworks for assessing ROI across marketing initiatives and make strategic recommendations for resource allocation.
What we’re looking for:
Marketing expertise: You will need a strong understanding of digital marketing tools and strategies, with demonstrated success in planning and executing campaigns. You ideally have experience with content marketing, social media, and analytics, and a track record for driving measurable results
Autonomy and proactivity: You will need to take initiative to identify the best ways to achieve our marketing goals and independently execute plans that deliver them.
Adaptability and growth mindset: Our communications function is still in its early stages, and we expect the team to change over time. We’re looking for someone who is excited to help scope the function and adapt as the team grows.
Stakeholder management: This is a cross-functional role that will enable the growth of all of CEA’s core workstreams. You’ll need to build trust quickly and develop context on the needs of a wide range of stakeholders across the organization.
Compelling communications: You understand how to effectively connect with a wide range of audiences. You understand how to effectively translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content.
An understanding of our work: You have a strong understanding of EA and associated ideas, or demonstrate an interest in quickly learning more.
